Q: What is Familiar Analytics?

Familiar Analytics helps your Alarm.com video system distinguish between people and vehicles you know from the ones you don’t recognize. Once you identify familiar faces or vehicles, you can receive more personalized notifications about activity around your property.

Q: How does Familiar Face Analytics work?

After enabling the feature, you can select recent images captured by your doorbell to create and name a familiar face profile. Adding multiple images helps the system recognize that person more accurately over time.

How does Familiar Face Analytics work?

Can I use Familiar Face Analytics with my system?

Familiar Face Analytics is available in the U.S. with a compatible service package and select Alarm.com cameras, including the ADC-VDB775, ADC-V530, and ADC-V730/VC730P. Due to biometric privacy laws, the feature is not currently available in Illinois, Texas, or Portland, Oregon. You’ll also need to accept the Familiar Face Terms of Use before getting started.

How is my privacy protected with Familiar Face Analytics?

You're in control all the way. If you don't want to use the feature, you can reject the terms, and Familiar Faces won't run. If you do opt in, you choose which cameras use Familiar Faces and can change those selections at any time. Clips generated by the feature can only be viewed by you and those you allow to access your account.
