A built-in privacy shutter gives you complete control — it opens when you leave and closes when you get home, automatically or whenever you choose. When it's closed, the lens is covered and the camera is not recording. No guessing. But privacy is just the start. The V530 is also a full-featured indoor camera with 4MP HDR video, a built-in spotlight for clear color video after dark, AI-powered smart alerts, two-way audio, and continuous local recording. For anyone who has avoided indoor cameras because of privacy concerns, the V530 gives you everything you'd want from a premium indoor camera — and the one thing most don't have.

The V530 has a motorized shutter built directly into the camera. When the shutter is closed, the lens is physically covered — the camera is not recording and cannot record. You can set it to open and close automatically based on your location, on a schedule, or control it manually anytime from the Alarm.com app.

You have options. The V530 supports cloud-based clip recording as well as local recording with a microSD card (up to 1.5 TB) or an Alarm.com Stream Video Recorder (SVR). With a microSD card or SVR installed, the V530 records continuously so you can review the full timeline around any event, not just the clip that triggered an alert. Local recording options are available as separate add-ons through your service provider.

Yes. The V530 works in small and medium business settings where owners want the same visibility at work that they have at home. Beyond standard video monitoring, the V530 supports Business Activity Analytics — giving you data on customer traffic patterns, peak activity times, and how different areas of your space are being used. It's a practical way to make better decisions about staffing, layout, and operations, all from the same Alarm.com app you use to manage your security.

Yes. The V530 supports Perimeter Guard®, which automatically triggers the built-in spotlight and an audio warning when activity is detected in a zone you define. You can also trigger warning sounds manually from the app. For more proactive protection, AI Deterrence is an optional add-on that uses AI-generated voice messages, lights, and sounds to respond when a person is detected. Remote Video Monitoring is also available, where trained monitoring agents can intervene in real time and contact emergency services when needed.

The V530 gives you direct control over what gets captured. Use the privacy shutter to stop recording entirely when you're home. Set recording schedules by time of day, or limit recording to when your system is armed. Use Privacy Zones to block specific areas of the camera's field of view from ever appearing in footage. All settings are configurable from the Alarm.com app.

The V530 requires an Alarm.com service plan, which your service provider can help you set up. If you already have an Alarm.com security system, the V530 connects directly to it, giving you video and security in one place. If you're starting with just a camera, your service provider can help you find the right plan and build from there.
