Yes. The V731B runs on a rechargeable battery and connects via Wi-Fi — no wiring for power required. It can be installed indoors or outdoors in high, remote, or hard-to-reach spots like sheds, garages, and fences.

Battery life depends on usage, activity level, and temperature. Frequent motion detection, extended live streams, and cold conditions can shorten battery life. Lower activity and mild conditions help it last longer.

The battery is removable and recharges via USB-C — in place or out. Keep a backup battery pack on hand to swap in while the other charges, so the camera never goes dark. The optional solar panel accessory charges the battery continuously with one hour of direct sunlight or three hours of indirect sunlight per day.

The Alarm.com solar panel accessory (sold separately) connects directly to the V731B. With one hour of direct sunlight each day, it keeps the battery charged automatically. It was designed exclusively for the V731B and is not compatible with other devices. Third-party solar panels are not compatible with the V731B.

The V731B uses Perimeter Guard® to actively deter — not just record. When something is detected, it flashes the built-in spotlight and triggers an audible alert, making it clear the property is being actively monitored. AI Deterrence is an optional add-on that takes proactive protection further. When a person or vehicle is detected, it can automatically trigger the spotlight and play an AI-generated spoken warning — a more active response than a standard alert.
